Support

We answer email.

Audris is built by one person. There is no support ticketing system, no chatbot, and no "we'll circle back" queue. Email us and you will get a reply from a human who knows the code.

Frequently asked questions

Will I be auto-billed?
No. The free tier never charges you. If you subscribe to Premium or Premium+ AI, you will get an in-app notice seven days before each renewal. If you cancel, we honor it immediately at the end of the current billing period — your library stays on your device.
Can I cancel? Do you have a hidden cancel flow?
Yes, you can cancel any time. No hidden flow. Open your platform's subscription manager (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iOS, or Play Store menu → Payments & subscriptions on Android) and tap cancel. We do not run "are you sure?" guilt screens or last-minute discount panics.
Where do my documents go?
They stay on your device. Audris processes everything locally — parsing, structure analysis, OCR, and the neural voices all run on-device. We do not upload, store, or transmit your document content to any server. See the privacy policy for the full breakdown.
Is there a free trial?
There is a 3-day trial on Premium, and it is the honest version of one: the price you will be charged is shown before you start it, we notify you inside the app before it converts, and cancelling takes one tap. You do not need it to evaluate Audris — the free tier never expires and never asks for a card. The trial exists for people who want the meter gone for a few days before deciding.
What does the free tier let me do, exactly?
Three pages a week — about 900 words — read with the full HD voices, not a watered-down set. Plus structure-aware reading on every supported format, dark mode, the OpenDyslexic font option, and the full player with skip-by-section. The HD voices are free because they run on your phone: a minute of listening costs us nothing, so there is no reason to ration it. Premium ($6.99/month or $39.99/year) removes the weekly meter and adds OCR for scanned documents and custom pronunciations.
Does Audris work with Bluetooth headphones, CarPlay, and Android Auto?
Yes. Audris uses native MediaSession on Android (lock-screen controls, Bluetooth headset buttons, Android Auto) and MPRemoteCommandCenter on iOS (lock-screen, AirPods, CarPlay). Skip forward, skip back, play, pause, and section-skip all work from the lock screen and external controls.
How big is the install? Why?
The app itself is small; the HD voice adds about 145 MB. That is the Supertonic 3 neural model, which covers 31 languages and runs entirely on your phone. It downloads once, over Wi-Fi, and then never touches the network again. We would rather tell you about the megabytes on the store listing than stream your documents to a server to save them.
I have a bug — where do I report it?
Email [email protected] with the device model, OS version, and a description of what you did and what happened. If you can attach the (sanitized) PDF you were reading, that helps a lot. You can also file an issue on the public GitHub tracker once the repository is open.
Do you sell a lifetime plan?
No. We considered one and decided against selling it rather than sell it and quietly retire it later — which is the outcome we have watched happen at every app that offered one. Audris is two tiers: a free tier that does not expire, and Premium at $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year.
Is Audris open source?
Not at v1 launch. The structure-analyzer and Audris-specific glue are closed-source. The voice models are Supertonic 3 (OpenRAIL-M). If you want the engineering retrospective, the cornerstone blog post on how Audris reads documents like a human covers the approach in technical detail.
Can I export my library, bookmarks, or audio?
You can save a document as an audio file (M4A) for listening elsewhere — a long flight, a smartwatch, an old player. Three exports a month are included on every plan, free tier included; extra ones are $0.99 each. Bookmarks and resume positions live in app-internal storage; a future version may add a manual export for moving between devices.
How do I contact a human?
Email [email protected]. A real person reads every message — typically the same person who wrote the code. Replies usually come within a business day.
